LNNY Volunteer Tutor Training

Jefferson County

Literacy of Northern New York Jefferson County Combined Volunteer Tutor Training Fall Session

Literacy of Northern NY has sponsored tutor training workshops in Jefferson County for many years. Trained tutors work with adult learners to help them improve in areas such as Reading, Math, Writing, and English Speaking Skills.

Some of the students are working towards obtaining a GED, others need to improve skills for employment, and many students come from other countries. The Combined Tutor Training provides volunteers with the knowledge to help our students. All materials used with students are provided along with continued support.

Tutoring only takes an hour or two of your time each week. The rewards are great – you just might be the person helping someone get a Driver’s Permit, improve employment or reach a milestone.
