Daniel Boone Spectra
All Star Baseball, Rams Training Camp Begins, and Raccoons Ready to Return
Now those are the real signs that summer is heating up in STL. Which also means it's almost time to head back to school.
I hope that everyone is having a wonderful summer. The weather has been quite delightful overall and I'm optimistic that you were able to enjoy some sunshine.
The Heslin Crew has had some fun adventures this summer. All of the boys are currently camping in South Dakota. I would've gone with, but someone had to stay home with Daisy Dog. Never let it be said that I'm not a team player.
We also shuffled off to my hometown of Buffalo for wings and our first ever ride on water bikes. They are super fun if you ever get the chance ride them.
Apparently STL was listed on the top ten cities in the US because we've had lots of visitors this summer. And everyone wants to go to the zoo. We can almost find our way around without a map. It is always fun to see family and friends. We did also visit the Lincoln Museum in Springfield and had our first trip to the Central Library downtown. AMAZING!
It has also been a busy summer getting things ready for next year. I've taken a few different technology workshops and have been making some little changes to our room. Of course I've been planning out our units and activities as well.
I am looking forward to another wonderful year. I do miss seeing you all over the summer ~ your stories, sense of humor, smiles ~ I'm ready to be back.
I can't wait to see you all at Open House on the 4th!
School Supplies
I am requesting that each student bring in a box of pencils, a package of pink erasers, a roll of paper towels and a box of tissues this year. If your child is new to Spectra, a spiral notebook, sturdy two-pocket folder and a 1" binder will also be needed. If you're child was in Spectra last year, those supplies were stored in their cubby over the summer.
Feel free to drop your school supplies off on Open House night. As you know, my schedule is split between in Daniel Boone and Castlio Elementary. As luck would have it, Castlio's Open House is the same night as ours. I will be certainly be here for part of the time though. Our classroom will be open so please stop by. I will be there ASAP. I hope to see you that night.
Open House will take place on Monday, August 4th from 6:30 - 7:30
