Important Notice
Sunday 27 November 2022
Possible emergency school closure tomorrow morning.
The Matamata Piako District Council have advised tonight that the school may be required to close tomorrow (Monday 28 November) due to a major water problem in Morrinsville.
- We will be required to close if there is insufficient or unsanitary water for toilets and drinking purposes.
The added problem is that we will not know until after 8.30am when the council decision will be made. They simply do not know at this stage.
What does this mean for our school?
- We are planning to open including Care for Kids morning programme. We may be required to close. That would include Care for Kids.
- If this happens, parents will be required to make arrangements for children to be collected or walk home.
This decision will be communicated through School App, email and FB, Hero post and school web
site as soon as we are informed.
- It is difficult to know how to advise parents at this stage, but you may choose to keep them home until a decision is made.
- You may send them to school but your child or teacher will need to know what will happen for them if the school does close.
- Whether the school closes or not, the water will be cloudy for some time and children will need to bring a drinking water bottle.
Thank you for your cooperation patience with this uncertain morning plan.
Regards
