Hello Dragon Family,
I hope this newsletter finds you and your family doing well. I know that each day we hear new information about our global crisis and sometimes it is difficult to hear about the scary things that are happening. I hope you have a support system for you and your kids. If you need some extra support, please reach out to any of us. If your children are asking a lot of questions or seem worried, refer to our district website and look at the frequent Coronavirus updates on the main page. You will find some suggestions about how to talk with your children about what is happening right now.
This past week the teachers have been very busy preparing lessons, learning about new technology to be able to teach directly from home, calling and emailing parents and attending multiple on-line conference meetings. They are excited and ready to go. This is definitely a new experience for all of us! So please demonstrate patience and grace to our teachers as they learn to manage new tools and resources.
By now you should have received two things: an email from the district explaining our new school hours and processes for learning as well as an opt-out form if you do not want your child to participate in the live classroom experience. Just in case you missed the newsletter, we have added a link to our DES website that will quickly give you access it. We want you to be informed.
We are all eager to see our students' smiling faces again! So please consider allowing them to participate. What a great opportunity to use technology as a learning tool and to be able to see classmates they have not seen in weeks. With social distancing still in effect, this could be crucial to keeping them engaged in wanting to learn.
Continue to visit our website frequently. Remember our website also has a link to our school Facebook site so you can see what is happening on campus. Thanks to all of the families who participated in our Facebook Spirit Week. We will try to do something again soon, so keep checking.
Stay safe and make sure everyone is washing their hands for 20 seconds and staying at a safe distance from others. I know I miss all of my daily hugs and smiles that I used to get every morning. Hopefully, we will be able to get back into a "normal" mode sometime soon. But for now, we must model safe practices for our children. So please give them a big squeeze from all of us at school. We miss them!
Since we are not at school and the school phones are not taking messages, email is the best way to reach anyone you need. Please feel free to reach out to us for help or if you have questions.

It is unfortunate, but the book fair we had scheduled for April has been cancelled. Once we know when school will resume, we will consider our options for possibly planning a new date.
Thank you for supporting our fundraising efforts! We had an incredible level of participation and students were excited to work for their prizes. We will figure out how to wrap it up when we have a little more information. Please remember to keep the money together so you can turn it in as soon as we are back in school.
Full Color Yearbook on sale now! $20.

Forms to start the process are available in the office. A+will visit our campus again on May 7. Please consider this wonderful opportunity.
