Week of September 10-14
Welcome Back!
Welcome Back Everyone! We hope you had a fabulous summer with family and friends. The first few days of school have been filled with welcoming the Grade 10's to our Notre Dame family, confirming timetables, and getting to know your child as a learner.
Teachers are now well under way with their curriculum and providing supports where needed. To assist us in ensuring your child is successful, we appreciate you checking PowerSchool regularly, to review their academic progress and attendance record.
We are looking forward to an exciting school year and thank you in advance for your continued support and involvement in your child’s education. Please feel free to contact the school if you ever have questions or concerns.
God Bless,

NDD
Notre Dame is pleased to inform you that this year’s school focus is Mental Health Awareness for students, staff, and parents. We have restructured NDD so that it is led by your child's Block 1 teacher, where a relationship has already been built. Weekly topics will be derived from current mental wellness issues and results from the COMPASS survey that our students participated in last year.
A number of exciting events have also been planned starting with Sheldon Kennedy presenting to our school on Monday, September 24th and our first ever Wellness Fair on Monday, October 15th. We feel that this is a timely and targeted focus and we request your support in ensuring your child attends these events, to increase their awareness and to build strong coping strategies.
Meet the Staff
We invite everyone to join us on Wednesday, September 12th from 5:30 -7:00 pm for a Meet and Mingle drop in with the staff. This is a great opportunity for you to meet your child’s teacher and see the wide variety of programming we offer at Notre Dame.
Top Academic Awards
Directly after Meet the Staff on September 12, we will be honouring our top academic students in the present Gr. 11 and 12 classes, in the gymnasium, from 7 - 8 pm.
All parents have been notified if your child will be receiving an award that evening.
