Lyric Essay
Isabelle and AJ
Inside Siddhartha's Head
I wanna be up there high
I'm climbing and climbing
but for every rung I pass
Another Appears
I climb and climb
Wondering if I'll ever reach the top
I climb and climb knowing I can't ever stop
I climb and climb
A rung breaks and I dangle
No more climbing
I feel stuck
I already was stuck
In this continuous Journey up
I wasn't happy where I was
I'm not happy where I am now
Will I be happy when I reach the ledge?
The children he scolds then becomes
Why isn't life fair?
Why can't we all just have what we want?
What can't we all just have what we deserve?
Why is it always take take take...
Why do we break our backs, our hearts, and at times sell our souls?
For what?
This?
Take life
Take love
Take hope
Take happiness
Take strength
Take support
Take faith
Take trust
Take friendship
Take warmth
Take effort
Take hard work
Take passion
Take the good
Why don't they take
Take misery
Take anger
Take hunger
Take thirst
Take exhaustion
Take heart break
Take grief
Take greed
Take guilt
Take helplessness
Take pain
Take hurt
Take longing
Take barriers
Take enemies
Take hate
Take the bad
Why must we lose to gain? And gain to lose?
Why can't we gain to gain?
Can't we never lose?
What is life anyways?
Something to be worked for so hard, literally entire lives - no pun - and bam, taken.
And that take not only effects that who was taken, but it ripples and takes something from family,
Ripples, takes from friends
Ripples, takes from acquaintances
Ripples, takes even from the unknown
Ripples, takes from the world.
And what it takes is replaced and given something awful...
I'm over the rainbow
Over it.
I don't see any pot of gold..
I see withered, dry, beaten and eaten old grass...and an imprint with nothing there...it was taken.
Oh death what a marvelous conception.
I don't care,
I want them back.
Don't tell me everything happens for a reason,
Don't tell me something lost is something gained,
Don't tell me their in a better place,
Don't tell me time heals all,
Don't tell me it was anyone's will,
Don't tell me don't tell don't tell me
I do not care.
All that matters is that I have lost.
I am in grief.
The emotions I am experiencing are boundless.
How about a gift?
I give, and you take.
The Jedi
Super hero
I am your super hero
You don't know it's me
I'm fine working behind the mask
Please don't ask,
My identity you don't need to see!
I work for love
I work for justice
I work for you...
Sometimes I wish you could know the truth
But it's my secret...
I gotta keep it..
I would die for you
I fight for you
Take a bullet to my brain for you..
If that's what it takes
I am your superhero
Flying through the stars
Taking ever scar with pride
As long as I am by your side
You don't know it's me
I'm your superhero
I sacrifice
I pay the price
Just so you can walk away safely...
In the shadows i'm there
Watching over you...
Good vs evil!
I triumph all
You can sleep safe tonight
My darling...
Because I am your superhero
Vasudeva (New Life)
We cry We hate We fall
But we always carry the passion
One day our passion becomes great
so great that it has an incomprehensible power
We leave our bodies
We leave everyone behind
We go to the otherside.
What my mom thinks I do
What society thinks I do
What my boss thinks I do
What I think I do
What I actually do
and this is crazy
but i'm your father
so join me maybe

at the darkest point,

I am not going to identify which quote came from what work. That way there is no bias. There is a common theme in all three. Love and wisdom. Once you strip away the titles, the comparison is uncanny. Like stripping the clothes and colors off a human, we're all the same underneath.
