Students who already attend a Greenwood District 50 magnet or choice program via an application or lottery process will receive commitment letters for their program of attendance the week of January 29, 2018. Letters will be mailed. Each letter will contain a self-addressed envelope that is to be used to return the letter. Return all commitment letters in the provided self-addressed envelopes to Greenwood District 50, Attn: Cathy S. Chalmers, PO Box 248, Greenwood, SC 29648 by February 23, 2018. Thank you.
Art
6th grade rotation students, please make sure you have your sketchbooks by next week (or a spiral notebook). Sketchbooks are used for sketching and practicing for every project as well as taking notes. This helps your child stay organized and keeps all of their information in one spot for class. If your child decides to take art next year, this sketchbook should last for next year as well.
Next week, 6th grade will begin learning how to draw in one point perspective. We will also begin incorporating color into our artwork and building on the knowledge we learned with graphite pencils.
Math
Science
The students will continue working on simple machines. They will be responsible for working on their Rube Goldberg project that was assigned on the 12th. Please have students show you their rubrics on Google Classroom that we went over in class. The students will also have a quiz on Wednesday (17th) with the notes from Wednesday's (10th) class. Please encourage your child to complete assignments on time. Students grades will come from teacher assignments, USA Test Prep Labs, Study Island, project design and the quiz this week.
