Safety Presentation
November 2nd at 7:00 pm District 70 is co-hosting a parent event on community safety. D70 & D128 are hosting two speakers that will focus on ways we can be safe as a community . April Oboikowitch from Be SMART will be presenting to parents on safe gun storage. Bruno Dias from the Department of Homeland Security will review the importance of threat assessment within our community and ways we can work together on safety. More information will be sent out in the coming days about this evening event.
TOP FIVE THINGS you can do to make arrivals and dismissals safer and run smoothly?
ARRIVAL
5. After the “Buses Only” sign is removed, pull forward in the circle drive as far as possible to allow room behind for other cars.
4. Arrive early and encourage your child(ren) to play on the playground until the bell rings.
3. Travel south-bound only on 7th Avenue
2. Make sure your child can exit the car without you getting out to help. If you do need to get out of the car to help, pull forward toward the cafeteria doors to give the “fast exiters” some room to get around safely
1. BE PATIENT.
DISMISSAL
5. Have a meeting space away from the front of the school.
4. Do not stop in the middle of 7th Avenue and call your child over to the car so that they are walking out in front of parked cars.
3. Travel south-bound only on 7th Avenue
2. Do not encourage children to play in the grassy area inside the circle drive while buses are present.
1. BE PATIENT.
Picture Retake Day
Veterans Day 2022

An assembly will begin at 8:25. Special guests will be treated to songs and some surprises. Students in Grades K-3 who have a family member in attendance will also be in the gym, while all other students in Grades K-3 will be watching through a livestream in their classrooms.
Please RSVP by Wednesday, November 9th at 9:00 am for guests by completing this form.
We currently have 12 guests who have RSVPd.
Fall Sing 2022
The Fall Sing is quickly approaching! The 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students have been working hard to prepare “Off Their Rockers”, a fun-filled musical play with music from the 1950s and 1960s. We’ve had a lot of fun learning this music, and are excited to perform for you! The date of the performance is Thursday, November 10th at 6:30pm in the Copeland Manor Gymnasium. Students should arrive at 6:15pm to meet with their teachers in the multi-purpose room. Please do not arrive before this time, as we do not have supervision for the students before 6:15. The attire students should wear for this performance is up to you! Dress like an elderly person, and make it as fun as you can! If you don’t want to dress elderly, a nice outfit will be great! Please avoid sweatpants and hoodies, as this is a performance we have worked very hard to prepare! Kindly note that we will not be live streaming this event this year. Please let Mrs. Griffin (sgriffin@d70schools.org) know via email if you have any questions!
1st Trimester Report Cards
The first trimester ends on November 28th and report cards will be issued on December 7th. As in the past few years, report cards will be made available electronically in the PowerSchool Parent Portal (they are not going home in paper version).
