New teachers and certificated staff received training in several areas including class management, PLCs, technology tools, structured talk and strategies, and engaging English learners. New team members also attended sessions with human resources, educational services, the business, technology, and the maintenance departments. New teachers were provided a bus tour of Soledad and given time to prepare their classrooms for the star to the school year.
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
On August 2, the Soledad USD participated in the annual National Night Out. The event featured resource tabled from many local and county agencies and law enforcement all to support safe community and return to school. The Soledad HS NJROTC presented the Colors at the event and hosted its own table. The Soledad HS cheerleaders performed as well.

We held Districtwide Professional Development on August 4-5 at Soledad High School. On August 4, staff gathered for a general session, and heard from Superintendent, Randy Bangs and Keynote Speaker, Alexander McNeece from Solution Tree. Following the general session, elementary teachers and paraprofessionals participated in Foundational Literacy Training. Secondary Teachers participated in Building Positive School Culture training. Each of these trainings were the first in a three part series which will be continued on October 7 and January 9.

Approximately 500 certificated and classified team members completed the training in morning and afternoon cohorts. Staff also participated in KidPower training at school sites.
