Changes in the Air
Next Year, 2016-2017
April 13, 2016
Life is full of change. Our eighth grade class is looking at changing schools. All our students are looking at change as they move to the next grade and it's challenges. A few students have moved into different homes this year. It's part of life.
There is a change in my responsibilities this next school year. I have found it difficult to be principal, teach the lower three grades and parts of another, open the door when we have no adult in the library to do so, take care of necessary phone calls and texts during the day., etc. This may be because I am getting older. I prefer to think not....
After much pray and consideration about the situation, I chose to suggest to our school board, sometime back, that Mrs. Hasty become principal for next year. She has been with us for several years now, and I, as well as the school board, feel that she is very capable and will do an excellent job. I will finish out this year as principal. Mrs. Hasty has now officially accepted the invitation from our board. We look forward to her leadership as our school opens in the fall.
It has been a honor and privilege to serve as principal the last two years. Thank you for the opportunity.
I am looking forward to teaching our lower grades next year. I look forward to having more time to put into my classroom again.
It is not without some sadness that I made this decision. But in life, sometimes one has to do what is best, even when it is not easy. I believe the correct decision has been made.
We look forward to Mrs. Hasty's leadership, and thank her for answering the call!
Please continue to keep our school in your prayers.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Karen Olson
