CIS Updates
Spring Break certainly had a different feel this year. I hope that this newsletter finds our Comet Family healthy and well. Even though traditional schooling has been suspended for the remainder of the school year, Coloma Intermediate School has been working diligently to develop a remote learning plan to insure our students are able to successfully complete the 2019-20 school year.
Classwork and Assignments
We realize some of you do not have a device and/or internet access to do online learning at home. The district is working on a plan to distibute chrome books for all CIS students. We will get these details out to you soon.
If you do not have internet access for online learning at home, please email your teacher, or call 468-2415 to leave a message. Please make sure to include your child's name, grade, homeroom teacher, and your phone number in your message.
Teacher Office Hours
Each teacher will have their own, unique login information for their office hours. These will be posted in next week's CIS news and on our website.
If you have a device at home, you can join by video with your device, or you can join by phone.
Students are strongly encouraged to attend at least one of the open office hours with their homeroom teacher.
Morning Announcements
Additional Reminders
- Building offices are now closed, if you require assistance please contact the Administration office at 269-468-2424 and leave a message. They will be handling all requests via appointment.
- Meals are delivered on Mondays and Thursdays on a delayed start bus route schedule as well as in the parking lot of Coloma Intermediate from 10:00-10:30am.
5th Grade Parents and Guardians
The spring is typically a time of planning for the upcoming school year. Unfortunately, we have not been able to complete our typical planning with your 5th grader due to the mandated closure. In an effort to stay on track with our planning for the 2020-21 school year, we would like to ask that you and your child complete the enclosed form regarding elective classes for their 6th grade year. Please click here for the form.
All 6th grade students will be scheduled for English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies and Physical Education and Health. This allows room in their daily schedule for 1 elective class. Students may choose from Band, Choir, or a general elective. Band and Choir are both year long classes, students that choose Band or Choir will remain in that class for the entire school year. The general elective will include a rotation of elective classes that will include different types of classes such as Project Based Learning and STEM.
Student schedules will be completed over the summer and will be available for pick up in August. If you have any specific questions in regards to scheduling you may contact the Junior High Counselor, Celeste Wyatt via e-mail cwyatt@ccs.coloma.org
