IMPORTANT: End of School Year Activities

We are excited that the end of the year is quickly approaching, and we have several activities planned to reward our students. In order for everyone to enjoy these reward days, we want to give a few guidelines. We all know how exciting the anticipation of summer can be and behaviors tend to escalate as the days draw closer, so please help us in reminding your students to exhibit appropriate behavior both in the classroom and in the hallways. Students that are unable to follow the rules and receives a write up beginning 4/25 to the end of the school year could have limited participation in end of the year activities, including but not limited to Field Day, Award's Day, and outdoor grade-level activities.

Important Info!

  • Accelerated Tutoring on Thursday, May 19 at 7:45am
  • 7th Grade Awards, Thursday May 19 at 9:30am. Invitations will go home on Monday. Due to space limitations, only students receiving awards will be in the gym during the Awards Ceremony. Other students will stay back on the 7th grade hallway.
  • 7th Grade Field Day is Tuesday, May 24. T shirts will go home on Friday of this week.
  • Last chance for yearbooks! Bring $40 cash to Ms. Thompson in room 604 asap to secure your yearbook!
  • Last day of school is May 27 (2 hour early release)
  • *If your child is DLD, be sure to check each teacher's Canvas page for assignments to keep them up-to-date with class.

Online Textbook/Homework

Students now have access to our online textbook. This allows students to view videos, complete practice problems, get help, see examples worked, and complete assignments. I will assignment homework from the online textbook each week and it should be completed by Friday. I prefer students do the online version of the homework because help is available at the click of a button. Students who do not have access to the online textbook because they do not have a computer, phone, or any electronic device at home will be given a paper copy upon request. CHECK OUT THE QR CODES IN EACH LESSON FOR A TUTORIAL VIDEO!

Not happy with a quiz or a test grade??

Our class grades are constantly "looping" during a nine weeks. If students show mastery on a concept later within a 9 weeks period, I replace the grades that previously represented that concept. At the end of the 9 weeks, we will have a "Looping Test" (similar to a final exam) and this grade can replace previous test grades for that nine weeks.
