ATTENDANCE:

School hours are 7:30-2:30. If your child arrives after 7:30am, they will need to be signed in at the office. If your child is absent from school, please send me a written note explaining the absence. The office will need this note in order for the absence to be excused.

BIRTHDAYS:

If you would like to celebrate your child’s birthday at school, you are welcome to send a special treat or snack to school on the morning of their special day! We would love to celebrate with them!! *All food items must be store bought so that the ingredients are easily read.

CHANGE OF ADDRESS/PHONE:

Please notify me as soon as possible of any changes in address, phone, or any other emergency contact information. Keeping the school informed helps us to help your child in case of an emergency.

FIELD TRIPS:

We will take 3 field trips this year. Field trips are a great way for us to explore places outside of our classroom. We will wear our class t-shirt on each field trip day.

LIBRARY:

We will go to the library every other week. If your child loses a book, he or she will need to reimburse the library for the cost of the book. If a balance is outstanding, report cards will be held until payments are made.

LUNCH:

Lunches should be in a lunch box or bag with the name on the OUTSIDE. If your child is buying lunch, please send the money in an envelope with your child's first and last name, amount enclosed, purpose for the money, and my name. If you would like to eat lunch with your child, you are welcome to come!

MEDICATION:

Do not send any medications to school with your child. If medications are to be given at school, it must be in the original prescription container with signatures from the doctor and parents affixed on a form provided by the school system. The medication must be delivered to the school nurse in person by the parent or guardian of the student.

MONEY:

Please place all money in envelope(s) labeled with your child’s first and last name, amount enclosed, purpose for the money, and my name. With many children to keep track of and several reasons to collect money, this helps me out tremendously and reduces the likelihood of errors.

OUTDOOR RECESS:

Your child will be going out for recess everydayunless it is raining or extremely cold. Please keep this in mind when helping select clothing for the day. It is very important that your child dresses for the weather. If it is cold and your child does not have a jacket, he or she may be kept inside during recess. We are fortunate to have a variety of playground equipment, including several pieces for climbing. Be sure to keep this in mind when selecting shoes for your child. Cowboy boots, clogs, and other slip-on or dress shoes are less than ideal if your child chooses to play on this equipment.

TAKE-HOME FOLDERS:

Please make sure your child brings his or her take-home folder to school daily. Please check this folder on a daily basis for notes, homework, graded papers, newsletters, etc. Please remove any completed work from the folder daily. If you need to send me any notes, money, etc., please use this folder as well. I will be checking them every morning.

TOYS:

Please remind your child that we are very busy in Kindergarten; Therefore, he or she is not permitted to bring any toys to school. Thank you.
