Visual Appeal & a 10 Word Summary

Using WWII Images & Videos

Using a combination of different Discovery SOS's, specifically the 6 Word Stories along with research that "visual cues help us to better retrieve and remember information (2012), my strategy will focus on students looking at visual images and videos & summarize their meaning in 10 words or less. This will allow students to retrieve information visually and focus on the main ideas of the unit.

Example & Challenge:

Display a WWII image. Give students time to research the image using computers and then write a 10 word summary of the image. Students will share and discuss their summaries with the rest of the class.

Challenge: Select your own video or image for whatever lesson you are teaching and ask your students to do the same as the example!
