Prayer for Community
Our schools need the support of all parents and carers.
Each one has his or her unique contribution to make; some special quality
that can help build a community that really cares for children.
Let us pray that all parents and carers will experience a sense of warmth
and welcome, and that there will be a rich sharing of ideas,
talents and enthusiasm as together we go about our work of
helping our children to grow and learn.
Amen
Dear Parents & Staff,
Congratulations to the students who made their Holy Communion on Saturday evening and Sunday morning. This was a special celebration with many families, parishioners and staff present. Thank you to all who supported and to Father Quynh for leading the students through the Sacrament so meaningfully. A special thank you to the Choir, along with Mr Loiacono, Mrs Notte and Mrs Stapleton and the Year Four staff – Mrs Flexman, Mrs Pethick, Mr Webb, Mrs McKinley and Mrs Gaudoin and to the Altar Servers.
Student reports will be available on SEQTA next Friday 22 June from 4pm. The report is a summary of your child’s achievement against the curriculum that was taught in Semester One. The report will help you have a conversation with your child in regard to their progress, effort, responsibility and attitude towards learning. It will help you celebrate successes and to also determine some areas of focus for Semester Two. It is important that students own their efforts and achievements and that as adults in our children’s lives we ensure that they understand and appreciate they are the most influential person, with family and school support, in determining the results they achieve.
As part of our reporting process, interviews will be held on Wednesday 27 June from 12.30pm and conclude by no later than 6.30pm. These are important meetings as they provide teachers with an opportunity to expand upon what is written in the report. They also allow parents to seek clarification and ask questions about their child’s progress. The meetings will be for 10 minutes each and it is important that they do not go beyond this time to allow all parents the opportunity to meet with teachers and not disrupt the timing of meetings with other teachers. Interviews will be booked online via PTO, these will be made live at 4pm on Friday 15 June.
Please note, these meetings are for children in Pre-Primary to Year Six. Kindergarten children are welcome to continue for the full day as per normal or be picked up at 12 noon.
Community members are invited to join us tomorrow for the Year 1P Assembly in the Multi-Purpose hall tomorrow at 8.45am.
Best wishes and God bless

MOTHER'S DAY
Soon after we returned from school holidays we were very busy making a present and card for our wonderful Mums. We also painted pictures and said why we love our Mums and why they are special to us.
Father Quynh visited our classrooms and spoke to the children and their Mums about the importance of Mother’s Day and blessed a Holy picture for each Mum.
We invited them into our classrooms and enjoyed fun activities such as playdough cakes, flower making, biscuit decorating, hand prints, drawing, gluing and reading stories.
Our Mums enjoyed themselves so much, many of them didn’t want to go home! We loved having them in the classroom and it was good to see how much fun they had!

POSSUM GOES TO SCHOOL
We read the story about Possum and his adventures around the school. We took our possum to the staffroom, canteen, sports room, science room, classroom and playground. He was a little bit naughty so we had to follow him to make sure that he didn’t mess things up too much.
We painted pictures of where he went and made a collage picture of possum. We also wrote our own story of where he went because we took photos and wanted to tell the story in our own words.
