Principal's Message

Happy Wednesday Bear Creek Cubs,

There is enough information that is new or a reminder that warrants a mid week Cub Hub.

Virtual Grand Opening - Friday, October 16, 2020

On October 16, 2020 we are very proud to invite you to our grand opening via Zoom at 4pm. Please take a moment to come and celebrate with us. While this is not the grand opening I had in my head as I dreamt about opening Bear Creek Elementary the excitement is still very tangible here in the building amongst our staff and your children. Come be a part of history, our history.

!!!! 4pm - BE THERE !!!!

Final Phase In - October 19, 2020

We are prepared to welcome back all students on Monday, October 19, 2020. I sent an email to the primary contact of the Phase 3 and Phase 4 students early this morning. If you did not receive an email from me (again it went to the primary contact as listed in our data base) please let me know.

School Supply Drop & Car Tag Pick - Saturday 9am - 4pm

I will be in the community room on Saturday from 9am - 4pm. Please take advantage of this time to drop off your school supplies and pick up your car tags.

Outside Food For Students

Please be aware that we are not taking any outside food per AISD Reopening Guidelines. This includes snacks and water. If your child forgets their breakfast or lunch just know that the cafeteria is providing free breakfast and lunch. The intent is to limit the number of people in the building and to eliminate any outside materials.

Traffic Safety Update

The City of Austin will be restriping the crosswalks and adding pedestrian crossing signage at both Trissino Drive at Escarpment and at Bernia Drive at Escarpment as soon as they can mobilize crews over the next few weeks. They are also waiting on permit approval to complete the sidewalk on Escarpment so that there is full connectivity from Bernia Drive to Trissino Drive on the school side. I will let you know when it is approved and when you can expect crews to begin working.

The Hunter 5K

Hunter 5K Halloween Fun Run

Registration is open for the second annual Hunter 5K Halloween Fun Run, honoring Hunter Henderson! The event this year will be virtual.

The Hunter 5K was created to honor and celebrate the fast and free spirit of Hunter Henderson, who tragically passed away in December of 2018. Hunter was a vibrant member of the Avana/Circle C community who loved Halloween and dressed up in costume throughout the year. Funds raised from this year’s virtual event will go to Dell Children's Medical Center who helped the Henderson family immensely during Hunter’s stay. Register today at https://thehunter5k.com/.
