November 4th Faculty Meeting - Presentation by Samaritans (KPMS Auditorium)
On our November 4th Faculty Meeting, we will have a guest presenter from Samaritans. The presentation is timely, as the approaching holiday season can be a very stressful time for families. Please read below for a description of the session.
Gathering Teacher Feedback - Nov 5
Now that I have had the chance to meet everyone at the school, I would like to formally learn more about the KPMS community by gathering some information. There are two ways for faculty members to participate: (1) you can fill out an online feedback form or (2) you can come to a voluntary teacher focus group meeting. Please be aware that the four questions on the online form are the same questions that will be discussed at the focus group session.
The 2nd focus group feedback session will be in the Principal's conference room from 2:30-3:00 PM on Tuesday, November 5.
Sincerely, Michelle
Observations - What to Expect?
An observation is a data gathering process that includes notes and judgments made during a classroom visit of a minimum of fifteen (15) minutes (for unannounced observations) or twenty (20) minutes (for announced observations). The visit may include examination of artifacts of practice including student work.
For an observation, the Evaluator shall place a folded color index card in his/her area at the beginning of the observation. Upon exiting the observation, the Evaluator shall place the colored index card on the Educator's desk.
The Educator shall sign the Observation report form within seven (7) school days of its receipt. The Educator’s signature does not indicate agreement or disagreement with its content. The Educator may include a written response within ten (10) school days of the receipt of the feedback, with the exception of Educators on directed growth or improvement plans, who shall have five (5) school days to respond. The timeline begins for both parties on the day after receipt.
