Message from the Assistant Principal
Greetings Panda Parents:
Our campus goal is for each student to show one year plus growth in math and reading.
Grit, pushing through challenges, is necessary to drive change. To develop grit, we have to address the confidence of our students. What they believe is what they become. If they believe that they can do hard things, they will do hard things. If they believe that they are smart and capable of anything, they will prove that in any situation they face.
Words of affirmation are a powerful tool as they become the internal dialogue we hear when we face a challenge. We use them at school in our community time, through the announcements and Coach Castle uses them in PE.
Please join us in using them with your students. You can post them on their bathroom mirror, recite them each morning before they leave or have them read them aloud in the morning and before they leave. Like anything you do frequently, they will become a habit and those beliefs will become who they see themselves as. No challenge will be too hard and no obstacle will be too tough. Our Pandas can and will achieve anything.
Lastly, a lot is being asked of you and you all meet us with such grace, always with your full support. Recently, you’ve been asked to submit paperwork for the grade level and participate in school-wide events like Red Ribbon Week and our Turkey Trot. While we try our best to provide information to you in a timely manner, at times our communication can be overwhelming when you are balancing multiple schools and multiple calendars.
Please don’t feel obligated to participate in everything when it just isn’t possible.
We appreciate all you do for our students and our school community.
Have a Beautiful Week Panda Families!
Panda Proud!

Assistant Principal

NEWS from Nurse Lindsey
Hi Panda Families!
The flu is rapidly showing up on our campus. We have had a number of students out with confirmed flu recently. Again I ask you to please keep your student home if they are not feeling well, running a fever, vomiting or have diarrhea.
Flu signs and symptoms usually come on suddenly. People who are sick with flu often feel some or all of these symptoms:
Fever*/feeling feverish or chills
Cough
Sore throat
Runny or stuffy nose
Muscle or body aches
Headaches
Fatigue (tiredness)
Some people may have vomiting and diarrhea, though this is more common in children than adults.
*It’s important to note that not everyone with the flu will have a fever.
The CDC says "Take 3" Actions to Fight Flu
1. Take time to get a flu vaccine.
2. Take everyday preventive actions that help slow the spread of germs that cause respiratory (nose,
throat, and lungs) illnesses, like flu.
3. If you get sick with flu, take prescription antiviral drugs if your doctor prescribes them. Early
treatment is especially important for older people, young children, people with certain chronic health
conditions, and pregnant people.
Please read the following information from the CDC titled "The Flu: A Guide for Parents"
