District Focusing on improving Student Attendance

Kennedy High School is utilizing State Student Success funds to target attendance rates. Principal Dale Petersen hired JFK graduate Autumn Traeger to focus on getting high school kids to attend school regularly. Autumn's strategies include regular check ins on students and home visits with parents. The graph below, from the District Strategic Plan shows past rates and current goals. Regular attendance is a leading indicator for students to be successful at school.

Kennedy Trojans Charging into Big Playoff Weekend

Girls Cross Country, Football and Volleyball are headed for a big weekend of competition. Cross Country is competing at the State Championship meet at Lane Community College in Eugene on Saturday. Football hosts Grant Union at home on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the first round of 2A playoffs. Volleyball is in Redmond Friday and Saturday for the State Tournament. We encourage you to continue supporting out athletes...Go Trojans!

School Resource Officer is a big Hit at St. Mary's

Officer Clement Lau is the School Resource Officer (SRO) for Mt. Angel School District. He attended the Halloween Virtue Assembly at St. Mary's Public School on October and discovered several students with aspirations of being a police officer.
