Math
Using our math tool bags to make number bonds and find the missing addend.
Reading
We introduced partner reading. Children sit elbow to elbow, knee to knee with a book between them. They take turns reading to each other.
Team building
We switch seats every 4 weeks and the children get a piece of a picture to design after they talk to each other about the things that they all like and have in common. They decorate that piece and then they put it together. The new sign is attached to their dog name table.
Writing
Reading our small moment stories to a friend helps us become better writers. They can ask the writer questions to make our writing better.
Math
We are working on finding the missing addend with sticky notes and partners.
Helping Goldilocks build a better chair.
After reading the fairy tale, we decided to make a better chair that wouldn't break...or at least hold the weight of an apple. I was so proud of how the each group worked together to get the challenged completed. Some groups worked together to make a plan, others worked separately and then assembled the chair at the last minute. Mrs. Wise put the apple on the chair to see if it would hold the weight!
Top Dog
Shannon was our top dog. Her favorite animals are puppies/dogs and she loves to eat brownies and tomatoes. She is pawsome at gymnastics (nice backflip), and being a big sister. She wants to be a teacher and/or nurse when she grows up.
