April Newsletter
Message from Mr. Fay
MAP Dates - 3rd Grade - April 26-27 and May 8-9
4th Grade - April 24-25 and May 3-4
5th Grade - April 17-20 and May 1-2
Dear Parents,
The MAP test will be given to 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students during the April 3rd through May 19th test window. The MAP test informs schools and families how well students are able to apply their knowledge and how they compare to other children in their grade. The tests also help to pinpoint a student’s strengths and opportunities for improvement.
This year the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has determined the MAP test will be administered online. Students will use the Chromebooks to practice test-taking skills on a computer. We will also use the Chromebooks to assess our students during the MAP window.
Our goal this year is to score in the top 10 percent of the state on the MAP test and we know we can achieve that with our students performing to their full potential. Through high-quality instruction, rigorous curriculum, solid relationships, and parent involvement, we are confident that Peine Ridge students will continue a tradition of excellence.
Please encourage your children to do their best and to know they are ready to tackle the challenge because of all their hard work and dedication to learn and grow. Also work with them to get good rest and a good breakfast.
Have a great April!
Mr. Damian Fay

Administration
WELCOME 6th Grade TEAM
Changes for next year
Next year our school district will have two additional elementary schools: Wabash and Stone Creek. With 6th grade coming down to the elementary buildings we are going down from five teachers at every grade level to four in every grade level with the exception of 4th grade remaining staying at five teachers.
We have a few teachers heading off to the new schools. Amelia Schulte and Teresa Jansen are leaving our second grade team for Stone Creek Elementary. Sarah Lococo is leaving our second grade team as well but headed to Wabash elementary. Joining Sarah at Wabash Elementary is Rebekah Tate. We also say goodbye to our first grade teacher, Caitlyn Locke. All of us in the Peine Ridge community wish each of you success with your new adventure.
In our building we also have some movement. Brianna Brown is switching from kindergarten to second grade. Kathryn Schott is moving from third grade to fourth grade. Jennifer Kraisan is going from fourth grade to second grade. Nicky Haley is making a change from fifth grade to fourth grade. Change is amazing and refreshing and we wish each of you success with your new positions.
We’d also like to welcome our new sixth grade team for next year. All of these amazing teachers come to us from Wentzville Middle School.
Mike Hirsch- Math
Robert Shue- Social Studies

From Left to Right
Hey all of you Proud Panthers:
My name is Mike Hirsch. Next year I'll be teaching sixth grade math. I've been teaching for 20 years (college level and middle school), but for the last ten years I have been with the Wentzville School District. I look forward to August when I will become a member the Proud Panther Family!
I would like to thank everybody from staff members to parents at Peine Ridge for the warm welcome. I am Clayton Shue and have been with the Wentzville School District for 5 years. I will be teaching Social Studies for the 6th grade next year! I am super excited to join the winning team at Peine.
Hey Peine Panthers! I'm Christine Franks and I will be teaching 6th grade Science next year. I've been teaching in the Wentzville School District for 6 years. I have also coached the WMS dance team. I'm so excited to join this incredible building next year!
Hi Peine Panthers!, I'm Patricia Dawson I am currently finishing up my first year as a middle school Communication Arts teacher at WMS. I am a graduate of the University of Illinois-Springfield with a Bachelor's in Psychology as well as a Bachelor's in English. In the classroom, I enjoy talking to students about the books they are reading as well as their interests outside of school. Outside of the classroom, I find myself at the ball field most days with my two active sons that are 12 and 9 years of age. I look forward to joining the staff at Peine Ridge this upcoming school year.

A thank you from the American Heart Association
Dear Peine Ridge Panthers:
On behalf of the American Heart Association and the millions of Americans we serve, thank you very much for your school's donation of $5,010.47. Families and schools are critical links in providing the foundation for cardiovascular wellness in our country. By holding this event at your school each year, you raise awareness about heart-healthy living. And you help us fund more lifesaving scientific research and critically needed education efforts. Thank you.
Almost every family in America is touched by heart disease or stroke, and your school's contribution will significantly impact our fight against these devastating illnesses.
Warm regards,
