Where Are All the Docs?
Within this drive you will find several folders with documents you may need:
- Beginning of the year - lots of information that you need to get things started (schedules, staff handbook, committees, listing of all staff, etc.)
- Important Dates - all important dates have been entered on our Moreau Heights Master Calendar within Google calendar. (Be sure you can view this calendar - if not, notify Sue) If you prefer a listing on dates by individual topic, there are some in this folder.
- Morning Meetings Plans - This is where ALL lesson plans and resources for Morning Meeting lessons will be placed. You will find materials already in this folder for the first 11 weeks.
- PBS Resources - All resources you need to pertain to daily PBS implementation are here (bootcamp schedule, Charger Cart schedule and example tickets, etc.)
- Social Skills Book/Lesson Resources - This is a place we have placed some resources about books that would support social skills instruction in your classroom. These books could be used to reinforce skills you see as a need in your classroom. In addition to the book title, there are conversation starter questions and activities with many of the suggestions.
Dawn's Dish
I want to thank each of you for the exhausting work you have been doing the last few weeks. Your rooms are absolutely amazing! Classroom teachers worked incredibly hard on the ELA lesson plans and are off to a terrific start. Support staff has been vital in getting classrooms and the building up and running for our amazing students. The custodial staff scrubbed our building top to bottom and I have to say, it has never looked better! Our office crew has been top notch and we are ready!
I see what you do each and every day for students, and we haven't even had the first day of school yet. You are all AMAZING. Please know that I SEE you and I am here for you. Don't hesitate to ask for what you need. This year is going to be great BECAUSE OF YOU ALL!!!
We have created a document that lists the must haves to be in your room. Some of those items are provided for you and some you will make yourself or make with your students. Please let us know if you are missing any of the school provided items. You can see a team member or mentor if you aren't sure what they look like or what needs to be done. The only new piece from last year is the new writing process. You can find the link to the document here.
Morning meeting reminders:
- No morning meeting the first day of school.
- The first 3 days are practice lessons. This would be a good time to incorporate well wishes.
- All morning meeting lesson plans are on the shared drive.
- Second Step lessons begin September 24th.

Help For Billy Book Study
We will share with you the schedule for who is facilitating discussion of which chapters and the assignments will always be in the Moreau Heights Staff shared drive ("Help for Billy-Chapter assignments). Dawn and I will be facilitating discussion of the first 2 chapters at our Sept. 11 staff meeting.
We are looking forward to the meaningful conversations we will have around this book! SO many great pieces of learning for everyone that will reinforce what you know, challenge your thinking, and help us develop more trauma-informed practices across our school.
Read Chapters 1 and 2 of Help for Billy prior to our Sept. 11 staff meeting
Staff Shout Outs
Thank you for Kelly, Meghan and Heather for their support as teams worked on prepping materials and lessons with our new ELA resource. It's truly a process!
