ZCHS Counseling Department
Welcome Message
Dear ZCHS Parent/Guardian:
The ZCHS Counseling Department welcomes each of you to the 2018-2019 school year. For our ninth grade students, the next chapter is just getting started. For our seniors, you are probably wondering how the last three years went so fast. Whether you are brand new to Zionsville Schools or this is your child's 13th year here, we want all students to feel connected to our school community.
The ZCHS Counseling Department is comprised of six School Counselors assigned to students alphabetically by last name, a College & Career Transition Coordinator, a Registrar, and a School Counseling Administrative Assistant. Collectively, our focus is to work diligently alongside students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community members to provide programming in the areas related to academic development, social/emotional development, and career development.
Below are a few big picture ways in which our school counseling department will collaborate and partner with all stakeholders.

Individual Brief Counseling:
Students are welcome to contact their school counselor as needed. Academic planning, academic support, post-secondary planning, school adjustment issues, building self-esteem, and grief counseling are just a few reasons for contacting their school counselor. Students can contact their school counselor by signing up on their counselor’s clip-board, which is located in school counseling office. Please note that all school counselors are located in the main campus school counseling office for the 2018-2019 school-year.
Programs/Events:
Dissemination of Relevant Information and Programs/Events:
ZCHS Weekly Parent Update: Our department will disseminate relevant information through our Counselors’ Corner located in the ZCHS weekly parent update, which is sent via email each Friday.
Direct Communication via Email: Throughout the school year, our department may send updates directly to families via email. For example, parents of seniors will receive this fall that contains important information related to the college admission process and post-secondary planning.
