These are our Superstars this week - nominated by their families to receive a special mention
Sienna
Iris
Mia
For her perseverance and determination in learning to ride her bike, she finally took off today and was so proud of herself and we are too!!
Jack
Charlie
For being a superstar for the last two weeks. He has made a really big effort with his school work and been kind and helpful round the house. He has been helping his little brother learn to read and let him help to build a rainforest.
Ciara
For her resilience and still continuing to work hard. Helping in the garden planting sunflowers seeds, a lavender tree in memory of Buzz (the dog) and choreographing a dance in support of the NHS and key workers.
Taylor
For never having one single "I'm bored". No arguments. He adapts and gets on with whatever comes his way with a sense of fun. Last week was a hard week with some big emotions and his response was to think of others first. He has handled things incredibly well even though home mostly has to be unstructured. Whatever he may have missed on schoolwork, he has shown kindness compassion and empathy in bucketfuls.
Kian
For completing all the tricky words up to sheet 30 which he was given by Mrs Clayton. He has done and continues to do outstanding maths. I am amazed at how advanced he is for 5 years old. We even picked up some year 1 maths work from Mrs Clayton to challenge him to.
He has also been biking 21 miles a week (3 miles a day, 7 days a week with me and his sister.) He has also done some baking and been in paddling pool.
Charlotte
George
Ben
Cameron
Violet
For learning to make her own pancakes from scratch. She measured the ingredients, cooked them on the hob and flipped them herself. During lockdown Violet has been doing lots of cooking and baking.
Dylan
For enjoying PE everyday without complaining by going for a 2.5-4 mile walk, scoot or bike ride. He says he feels fitter already. He gets on with all of his work every morning. We feel so proud of how he has dealt with the new routine and although misses his friends he has found new ways to communicate with them. He has also had hiss 10th birthday recently and although he didn’t get the sleepover he wanted, we still had a fab time.
Ava
For amazing us at how well she is coping with not seeing friends and family, having plans and holidays cancelled and having her whole normal routine disrupted. She has taken to this new way of living so well and has become much healthier with her new love of cycling. She puts so much effort into her school work, (even the things she finds tricky), hardly ever complains and has been really helpful at home too. We are super proud of her maturity at such a difficult time and she cheers us all up everyday with her beautiful smile.
Jayden
For his overall attitude which has been fantastic during this time, helping both me and his brother whenever possible.
He has worked exceptionally hard focusing on areas he hasn't felt most comfortable in his school work. I'm incredibly proud in particular in his positive attitude and perseverance towards percentages of large numbers and fractions.
Martha Mae
When Martha sets her mind to something she puts in her all. Well done Martha!
Ewan
Erin
Erin has worked so hard over these last 8 weeks and we have been so proud of her. She has had to cope with me working at the hospital for 3 long days and she has been very grown up and brave dealing with this. It has meant that she has had to do her school work by herself (as her dad is also working long days at home and in meetings most of the day). She has always tried her best to complete all the tasks set and tried to do alternatives when it wasn't possible to complete tasks without parent support. She has tried new things of water colour pen drawings and cross stitch too. We also had an amazing lock down 11th birthday celebration and she has mastered her hoverboard birthday present! She misses her friends so very much, her great teachers and her very special little friends in nursery but she's still smiling her beautiful smile, she is always our star.
Freya
Freya has been so helpful around the house and is so dedicated to her school work. She is a good role model to her big teenage sister. (Ha)
Freya is so kind, she has checked on the neighbours, made rainbows for neighbours in the street who don’t have children or a rainbow in their window.
And the rest of you...
Stay safe and take care!
Together we shine as one.
