A Note from the Principal

The world’s view of Valentine’s Day focuses on showing affection, being considered beautiful, being charming and being chosen by that “special” someone. This Valentine’s Day we need to focus on God’s view of love. God’s love is everlasting love, agape love, unconditional love, and unselfish love. 1 Corinthians 13 reminds us that God doesn’t line us up and inspect us to see if we are worthy of His love. He knows our flaws, our strengths, our weaknesses and yet He loves us anyway. God desires to save us from ourselves and offers us more chances than we deserve.

Remember that God is love and that he gave his only son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins.

Mrs. Donnell

Spanish: Mexican traditions rooted in Biblical History

Spanish students sampled tamales from the restaurant "El rincón de las delicias" on Feb. 2, a Mexican holiday 40 days after Jesus' birth. This is when Mary and Joseph took Jesus to the synagogue in Luke 2 and Simeon recognized Him as "the light to the Gentiles and the glory of all thy people Israel." Mexican families celebrate by going to mass then eating tamales with their families.
