It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year
The holidays have arrived, and break is around the corner! We sincerely hope everyone gets the opportunity to rest, reflect, spend time with loved ones, and also to think about what they want to be true for their students in the second semester.
In this round of Highlights, we'd like to celebrate by showcasing some of those who participated in the S.T.E.M. Photo Contest! We'd also like to remind y'all of some resources that could be an excellent use of time over the break, in order to help you cement in your mind a strong vision for the remainder of the school year.
For the Break:
For those wanting to make some big changes coming out of break, it can be especially helpful to get an idea of what some of our strongest teachers are doing throughout the network. Here's a link to our Torsh Talent "exemplar channels." Direct instruction, SGI, math routines, it's all there. Just select the channel you want, organized by block component, and you're set!
And the photo contest winners ARE...
From the TK classroom of Ms. Menzies at RBM, here's a snapshot of one student learning that we can use smaller shapes to compose larger shapes!
Next, this photo captures Ms. Chang's students at RSSP practicing bundling! Way to ground em' in those manipulatives!
Here, we have three of Mr. Chu's RDP scholars exploring science. What an awesome second grade experience!
Also in second grade (a tie here), these scholars from the classroom of Ms. Mangus at ROMO are designing a different structure! Go team go!
And lastly, from the fourth grade classroom of Ms. Pfeiffer-Hoens at RUA in Nashville, this team of rocketeers is spotted engineering a marble roller coaster! Well done.
