Girls Basketball team wins the State Championship!

Our girl's BB team was victorious against all three opponents at the State Tournament last weekend. They are the State Champions for the first time in 20 years! This means that we have the opportunity to compete in the National Championship in Valparasio, Indiana. This will not happen unless we raise a great deal of money. If you know of an organization that would be willing to help and sponsor our girls please get in touch with me. We have also established a Go Fund Me page for individual donations.

We are very sorry that we had to cancel the dance this evening but there was simply not enough interest expressed by the students. Out of over 130 students in 4th thru 8th grade, only 30 permission slips were turned in. We cannot expend the funds and energy for a DJ, decorations, food, etc. for such a relatively small group. We will refund the money on Monday. We will try again next month.

Registration is now open. It will open to the public on March 5. Space is limited in every grade level.

A frequent question is... do we have to register our child every year? The answer is YES. Until all the process has been completed, your child does not have a reserved space in class. Even though over 90% of our students return each year, we cannot count on that until a commitment has been made.

If you have any questions about the registration process, please do not hesitate to call or email me.

Here are the steps:

1. Complete the registration on Renweb

2. Pay the registration fee

3. Sign the tuition plan

Please note. There are only 5 spaces remaining in the 6th grade class for next year.

Students in 5th through 8th grade participated in the North Miami Library Black History Month Essay Contest. They had to write about a "Hidden Figure" in their community who was making or had make a positive difference. This was opened to all schools in North Miami. Our students won many awards! All students who participated and attended the program received a medal. Congratulations to the following students:

Honorable Mention: Trevaughn Budhoo and Rashad Forbes

3rd Place: Kyle White

Middle School:

Honorable Mention: Shanora Charles, Caleb Young

2nd Place: Alexander Cassagnol

1st Place: Christopher Rosario.

This means that out of 10 possible awards, Holy Cross students earned 7. I am so proud of our students and our teachers for encouraging them.
