STUDENT COHORT/GROUP ASSIGNMENTS
Cohort/Group assignments will be emailed to BHS families tomorrow, Friday, March 19th. Please watch for that communication. It will contain all the information you need to successfully transition back to in-person school. FRESHMEN ORIENTATION - MARCH 29TH
Hello, BHS Families of Freshmen,
We are happy to share that we will be holding a Freshmen Orientation for our current Freshmen to help them get ready for reopening school on April 1 & 2. Freshmen Orientation will be on March 29 from 12:45-2:15. Transportation will be provided. The link to the bus schedule is below. Orientation is only for students who chose to return to school. It is not for students who chose to remain fully remote. Students will be able to get all of their questions answered and will take a tour of the building to see where are of their classes are located. Students need to bring a copy of their class schedule, with room numbers listed, with them on the day of orientation. Instructions on how to see your schedule is posted in the attachment below.

BHS ART STUDENTS WIN BIG
Judging for the 2021 Olympic ESD 114 Regional High School Art Show has been completed and Bremerton High School has winners! You can view all the winning pieces on the Padlet Awards page. The artists' statements are quite enlightening and can be read on the Online Art Gallery, where you can also view every student submission.
- “From the Inside Looking Out” by Allison McMartin is the winner of the 2021 People’s Choice Award. Her piece received the most votes from visitors to the online High School Art Show. Allison will receive a $200.00 purchase award and her piece will be professionally prepared and added to Olympic ESD 114’s High School Art Gallery.
- “Hands” by Sandra de Moura has been selected as a Regional Winner and will advance to the state-level Superintendent’s High School Art Show at Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI).
- “A Pause” by Clover Navarro has been selected as a Regional Winner and will advance to the state-level Superintendent’s High School Art Show at Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI).
- "Second Dive" by Chloe Painter has been selected as a Regional Winner and will advance to the state-level Superintendent’s High School Art Show at Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI).
- "Dive" by Chloe Painter has been selected by Central Washington University to receive a $2000.00 Scholarship Award.
SPRING PLAY REHEARSALS
Your Knights on Stage are hard at work rehearsing our spring play, GAME OF TIARAS! If you're a fan of Game of Thrones, King Lear, Monty Python, and Disney you'll love it! Live online performances are on April 23rd and 24th at 7:00PM, and April 25th at 2:00PM. The Zoom link will be available on Wednesday, April 21st.

Miss West Sound
The 2021 Miss West Sound competition has been delayed until Fall but the scholarships are still available in an all-new format!
The MWSSP will award two $1000 scholarships to any gendered individual who is on track to graduate from a Kitsap County high school. Deadline is 4/15/2021, more information and application at https://misswestsound.org
Dennis R. Allred Memorial Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a chosen student who is the child or step-child of a law enforcement officer who resides or works in Kitsap County. Deadline is 6/1/2021 more information and application at http://fopevergreenlodge.org/Press.html
COVID-19 STUDENT SURVEY
Our school is participating in the COVID-19 Student Survey in spring 2021. The survey will be given to students in grades 6 to 12 throughout the state. The survey includes questions related to physical and mental health, thoughts and feeling pertaining to school during the pandemic; adult and peer support; attitudes towards and use of alcohol, marijuana, and other drugs and COVID-19 precautions. Survey results are used by teachers, school leaders, parents, community partners and policy leaders to help understand how to meet the needs of the youth in the state. Participation in the survey is voluntary and the students’ answers are anonymous. The survey is open now and will close on March 26th.

STUDENT-LED CONFERENCES - LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL
BHS SCHOOL PICTURE DAY!
With the school building reopening, BHS is finally able to hold an on-campus SCHOOL PICTURE DAY! Students can have their yearbook/student ID picture taken in the BHS gym on Wednesday, April 21st 8:30am - 3:30pm. Students will enter the school at the Ohio St. entrance for access to the gym, and need to follow all social distancing measures put in place by the Bremerton School District, including wearing a mask (it will be taken off for the photo).
