GMS Weekly News and Notes
Weekly Updates
On Friday morning, GMS CAPT provided a wonderful breakfast for our teachers and staff. As we begin Thanksgiving week, on behalf of everyone at GMS, I want to offer tremendous gratitude to our families for your ongoing support and partnership!
The CPS Fall Family Survey will be open until the end of the day tomorrow. If you have not already done so, please take a few minutes to provide your feedback related to how things have gone so far this year. This data is incredibly important as we work to refine our goals.
In order to streamline tech support for students, we will be introducing the GMS Help Desk starting tomorrow. The Help Desk will be located in the library to the left of the librarian's desk. The desk will be staffed before school starting at 7:30, after school ending at 2:30 and in 10 minute intervals during class transition times throughout the school day. Students should not ask for a pass in the middle of a class period, or knock on the tech office door. Any GMS student with a Chromebook issue must visit the Help Desk within one of the windows of availability. A ticket will be issued and the student will be able to receive a replacement or a loaner.
This week will be Spirit Week at GMS. Monday, November 21st will be Pajama Day.
Tuesday, November 22nd will be Neon Day and Wednesday, November 23rd will be Canton Spirit Day. We encourage all students and staff to participate!
Please note that term 1 report cards were added to your student's E-locker in Plus Portal on Thursday, November 17th. Paper copies are not sent home, but we will provide a paper copy to anyone who requests it. If you have not already done so, please review the term 1 report card with your child. Feel free to reach out by phone or email if you have any questions or would like some guidance on how best to support your student.
Finally, a friendly reminder that Wednesday, November 23rd is an early release day. Students will be dismissed at 11:05 AM. All CPS schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday in observance of Thanksgiving.
