Biography
Born Michelangelo Buonarroti was born one March 6, 1475, in Caprese, Tuscany, Italy; died February 18, 1564, in Rome, Italy. He spent most of his life in Florence, Italy. He moved around a lot. He was always getting requests a lot so he was very active and on the move. He mainly created sculptures ranging from public display to statues meant to be put by tombs.

This piece was created in 1501, it was very significant because it was the first nude statue sense the Roman Empire. I found the piece interesting because it was one of his most famous works. This piece represents none of the isms that we learned about in class because it was a oversides god like statue of someone from the bible.
