A Note From Our Principal
With each spring comes State Testing.
Throughout the years, state testing has made it evident that homeschooling is just as effective as sending your child to school.
You may or may not know that our charter expires next year, and we are in the process of completing a re-charter application asking the district and the state to grant us another ten years. One of the things that they look at is the number of students that participate in the required testing. A high participation rate is leveraging with the state. Our students generally test well on these assessments and the results can be reaffirming to our parents. This can also help guide families in curriculum options for the next school year.
If you are undecided on whether to have your student test, please know that it will help Frontier Charter greatly. Please consider this information as you decide to have your student participate in the AK STAR beginning March 29.
Thank you for your support.

We Want To See Your Student's Talent!
You still have until March 23rd to enter this year's talent show. Last year our talent show was a huge success and we want this year to be just as fun and entertaining.
Just grab your cell phone and make a video, three minutes or less. Upload it to Liz Hunt. Easy peazy!
This document has all the details on how to enter.
Frontier Family Forum, Our New Charter
The next Family Forum, with our principal, is this Wednesday March 23rd. Our theme will be "Possible Changes to Our Charter". As you may already be aware, our 10 year charter will expire next year. We are currently completing our application with the state to recharter for another 10 years.
This is a golden opportunity to improve our school and charter for the future. One change we are considering, is to offer parents the freedom to enroll part-time with a private school.
What is on your mind? We would love your input.
Middle School Event, Greenhouse Scavenger Hunt
Join us for a visit to the Anchorage Mann Leiser Memorial Greenhouse: tropical greenhouse, solarium, fish pond and aviary. March 25th, 12:00-2:00 pm. Bring a lunch to eat in the greenhouse. We will include a fun scavenger hunt. Greenhouse is located at 1321 Lidia Selkregg Lane, near Russian Jack Park.
