Safety Alert: New Traffic Patterns at School Entrance
Progress on the Ridge Road extension from the Suncoast Parkway to Sunlake Blvd. is ahead of schedule, which is great. Unfortunately, the road crew visited Angeline Academy to share that they observed several drivers insisting on making an illegal left turn from the school exit--causing a few close calls and jeopardizing the safety of the workers.
Please be sure to follow the marked traffic pattern, which will permanent. All exiting traffic will make a right turn. If you need to head east after leaving our campus, you will need to make a U-turn near the Suncoast Parkway.
There are many signs emphasizing the need to make a right turn at the exit to the school campus. We appreciate your cooperation in helping to keep our school community and the road crews safe!
Long Boards & Skateboards - A Message from Transportation
Bus drivers are reporting an increase in students bringing skateboards and long boards onto buses. These items are not allowed. Beginning Monday, 11/6, students who bring a skateboard or long board with them will be required to leave the board at school for parent pick up. The student will be allowed to ride the bus home without the board.
An Update on National Junior Honor Society & National Honor Society
We're excited to be able to begin our chapters of National Junior Honor Society and National Honor Society. We've registered with the national organization and paid the membership fee to establish our clubs.
As a new school, we can induct members and transfer members from other chapters after our school has been in operation for one semester. In the meantime, we are working with our local middle schools and high schools to determine whether Angeline students have been inducted into another chapter. Students eligible for induction will receive invitations in February, when semester 1 report cards have been posted and we are able to pull rosters. Interested in learning more about what it takes to be a member? Check out the graphic below. You can begin to think about what you'll include on your application by reflecting on how you can show you embody the four pillars for NJHS/NHS:
- Character
- Scholarship
- Leadership
- Service
Angeline After Hours
This fee-based program offers voluntary academic assistance to students at a cost of $75 per week. This program operates five days per week, and families can sign up on Rycor to participate.
Extended School Day
Students whose academic performance meet specific criteria for additional, targeted interventions will be offered a seat in this free after school program. Participation requires regular attendance. Transportation is not provided for this program.
After School Detention
When a student's actions or pattern of behavior warrant it, we will now begin assigning after school detentions as a disciplinary consequence. Parents must arrange for transportation for students who are assigned after school detention.
After School Program - Featuring Homework Help & Tutoring
Weekly Sign Up Available - Tutoring & Homework Help Available!
Parents can now sign up for our Angeline After Hours program using the link in our online fee payment portal. As a reminder, we must have 30 students enrolled for the program to continue operation.
Our after school program offers supervised homework time supported by certified teachers who can assist with math, science, language arts and more! At just $7/hr, you can't beat this option to help your student complete his/her missing/incomplete work with assistance from caring instructors.

Sports Schedules
Help Our PE Program Grow!
Anything helps keeping our students active at our STEM School! The original direction of our school for 2023-2024 school year was not to have physical education offered in person on campus. Well, the stakeholders voices were heard and we went live with our PE classes.
Our space is very limited and we have some work ahead of us to get creative with fitness. The students are on computers quite a bit during their educational pathway and what better way for a brain break is to get outside and enjoy fun physical activities.
Pickleball lets kids be active in a lower-impact way and the mental stimulation helps with mood stabilization. Kids can play with friends, learn the game and play with their family in the community.

Yearbook Sales - Buy Now!
Our first ever yearbook is on sale! Order your copy online using the link below. The yearbook staff is also selling business ads, which are a great way to support their work and help keep the yearbook costs lower.
After surveying local middle schools, we are not planning to sell ads for individual students until we have a senior class.
Questions about yearbooks may be directed to our yearbook sponsor, Mrs. Swain.
6 Dos and Don’ts When Your Kid Screws Up
My car was parked in its usual spot on the street but the front bumper cover was hanging at an awkward angle. I felt my blood begin to boil as I wondered what my 16-year-old daughter had done. I tried to calm myself as I climbed the driveway, knowing that the next things I said and did were critical for her heart and our relationship. Every child is going to mess up. How you react to children when they make mistakes matters. How you handle them in these moments will shape them for a lifetime. There are dangers that come both from reacting too harshly and from reacting too weakly. Here are 6 dos and don’ts when your kid screws up.
Huddle up with your kids and ask, “What mistakes have you learned a lesson from?”
