Clarks Creek students have PRIDE!

Ensuring that ALL students carry themselves with pride and confidence beyond our doors as honorable, skillful learners and thinkers, ready to enrich our world.

SCHOOL GOALS - What will you do IN MARCH to get our students there? Round 2 is coming!

  • 40% of all students who take the ISTEP assessment will earn the maximum number of points of each problem solving question. This is an increase of 2.9% over last year’s scores.

  • 80% of all students who take the ISTEP assessment will earn a score of 4, 5, or 6 on the Writing Applications six-point rubric. This is an increase of 3.6% over last year’s scores.
  • Current fourth grade students will increase scores by at least 3% in the subcategory of Algebra & Functions, scoring 88% or higher.

Dear Staff,

We did it! Round 1 of ISTEP is complete, other than make-up assessments. Thank you all for your hard work, flexibility, willingness to help wherever was needed, and dedication to making sure our students had the best opportunity for success on this round of important assessments. I am SO proud of our students, who worked very hard throughout the entire week.

This week, we have the Spring Carnival to look forward to on Friday night. This is a great opportunity to interact with our families and see our students in a different environment where they're just kids having fun! I hope you can make it!

Have a super week!

Marisa

To-Do List

  • Bring your kickboxing clothes and mat for tomorrow after school!

Mark Your Calendars!

After hearing back from some of you about the scheduling of our next PRIDE convocation, we will plan that for 2:15 on TUESDAY, March 24, 2015. (Several classes have Easter projects planned for Thursday afternoon and the talent show is Wednesday, so Tuesday seems like the best option.) Please mark your calendars for this day and note that we will run the alternate schedule to accommodate the convocation.

Update on AP Search

We have narrowed our current pool of 126 applicants for our assistant principal to about twelve that Mary and I are meeting with in "pre-screening" meetings. This pool will be narrowed by spring break to the final 3 or 4 who will be invited for formal interviews.

JUST WAIT...

  • Our students are going to be working on a new "art installation" for Town Hall! Staff will also be invited to participate and contribute to the designs. Chihuly has nothing on us! Watch for info from Holly as she directs this project.

ARRIVALS & DEPARTURES

Departing Staff

  • Vanessa Phillips has resigned as crossing guard.

New Staff

  • Jonathan Adams is joining us for Jenny Ring's maternity leave. The baby is not here yet (at press time!) but she will be off until the arrival.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

  • March 12 - Brian Nelson
