Computer History
Find out how the best invention was made!!!
What is a computer?
Hard Drive (HDD)/SSD
Optical Drive
Monitor
CPU
The Central Processing Unit (CPU) interprets and executes most of the commands from the computer's hardware and software. you can consider the CPU as the "brain" of the computer.
RAM
Motherboard
The motherboard or mainboard connects all of the computer's components together. Everything connected to the computer, whether inside or out, communicates either directly or indirectly with the motherboard. The CPU can be found at the "heart" of every motherboard.
Input/Output device
- input devices are things that enter information IN to a computer, things like a keyboard, a mouse, a microphone, or even a webcam.
- Then comes the output device, which brings information OUT of a computer, like speakers, a monitor or printer.
Touch Screen
A touch screen is a computer display/or monitor screen that is also an input device. The screens are really sensitive to pressure, and how to use it is by touching pictures or words on the screen.
Operating System
An operating system or "OS," is a software that communicates with the hardware and allows other programs to run the computer. It is comprised of system software, or the centeral files your computer needs to boot up and function. Every desktop computer, tablet, and smartphone includes an operating system. Common operating systems: Windows ,Mac OS X, and Linux, and the first known use of operating system was in 1961.
Tim Berners-Lee
Tim Berners-Lee is a British scientist who invented the World Wide Web or WWW in 1989 (thanks to him we have the INTERNET!!!!) . He has found and Directs the World Wide consortium , He also has found the Web foundation, and co-founded the Open data institute in London. His research group at MIT's Computer Science and Lab ("CSAIL") plans to re-Decentralize the Web, which means to update it, or make it more decent for users. Tim spends a lot of time fighting for rights such as privacy, freedom and openness of the Web.
Alan turing
he was not well-known during his lifetime, but today he is famous for being a passionate British mathematician, who conceived modern computing.
The five generations computers, WAS four generations.
- First Generation (1940-1956) Vacuum Tubes
- Second Generation (1956-1963) Transistors
- Third Generation (1964-1971) Integrated Circuits
- Fourth Generation (1971-Present) Microprocessors
- Fifth Generation (Present and Beyond) Artificial Intelligence
