Village Distance Learning
Our Village Team will also be meeting virtually next week to plan for our new normal. We are all learning together on how to best support our students. We have a lot to plan and we will keep you updated on what we come with to support parents and our students.
Teachers who need support will have the ability to take part in trainings in google classroom and other platforms to support students with online learning. We know this is going to take some time and we are all in it together to quickly adjust to a new way of teaching. I know our teachers are amazing and are up for the challenge.
Teachers will be reaching out to the students next week so they can check in and support them in whatever they need to continue growing and learning. So hang tight and we will get through this together.

I wish you and your family a peaceful, healthy Spring Break!
OUR KINDNESS CHALLENGE WAS A SUCCESS! You’ll remember that last month we held our annual school-wide kindness challenge. I challenged our students to commit random acts of kindness and to report the kind acts they saw others performing. The goal for our school was 900 acts of kindness by the end of the month. I’m proud to report that our Village Eagles performed and reported 906 random acts of kindness! The plan is to celebrate this afternoon with an extra “dance party” recess and some healthy frozen treats. But the biggest reward we get from our kindness month is the feeling we get from being kind to others and seeing others being kind. It just makes our school feel like a happier, safer place.
As part of the challenge, I created a “kindness quilt.” For each act of kindness reported, I added a square. Once the quilt was complete, it was hung in the multipurpose room. My hope is that it will be a reminder to our students for the rest of the year how important kindness is and the impact is has on our campus.
