From the Art Room
We’re busy in the art room! We participate in an online gallery resource called Artsonia. I upload images of all of your students’ projects to this gallery, which also gives you the option to share art with friends and relatives all over the world in a safe, controlled online environment. Kids can even have fan clubs composed of people you choose and receive comments, which come to you first for review. Many of you have signed your students up for the gallery and Classroom Mode. If you have not, you will receive an email within the next two weeks from Artsonia asking you to sign up. We use Classroom Mode to title our artwork, make artist statements and just enjoy the excitement of seeing our art on our Chromebooks! Students who are not signed up for Classroom Mode will receive a pencil and paper alternative while the others are on their Chromebooks. Watch for that email from Artsonia, which will come within the next couple of weeks to the email you have on file with the school. Thanks!
Social-Emotional News from Mrs. Holok
Whether it’s entering school for the very first time as a Kindergartener or a student transferring to a brand new school, the start of a new school year can be a scary thing for students especially at the elementary level. Some students may exhibit somatic symptoms of anxiety such as headaches, stomachaches, or verbal angst of not wanting to attend school the next day. We want students to know that Timothy Ball School is both a safe and fun learning environment! When students enter the building, they will see the staff members greeting them with warm smiles and friendly waves. If your child is feeling hesitant or anxious about coming to school, here are few helpful tips to prepare them for a fun day of learning.

BIRTH TO SCHOOL
Birth to School hosted their first event, Family Fun Night, of the 2019-2020 school year on Monday, September 9. Families from MacArthur, Timothy Ball, and Solon Robinson gathered at Wheeler Middle School for an adventurous evening filled with food and family fun. The pasta and salad dinner was generously donated by Pops Beef & pizza was provided by Papa John’s. Dunkin’ donated munchkin donuts as well. Birth to School aged children, zero to five, traveled to different destinations to fill their passports with stickers before visiting the Gift Shop to receive a book as a souvenir. Families also had the opportunity to visit with librarians from the CP Public Library to receive information on how to obtain a library card and programs offered through the library; as well as speak with Rotary Club members about the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and how to sign their children up for that program.
