WELCOME TO TERM 2
Welcome back to the start of Term 2!!!
It really is good to be back. Term 1 really did race by. My sabbatical, that Principals can apply for every 6 years, was a good chance to reflect and recharge the batteries. During this time I undertook some Research into Collaborative Leadership which will assist me in my current role at Toko School and as the Central Taranaki Kahui Ako Lead Principal.
A reminder about our school organisation for the rest of the school year:

PAID UNION MEETINGS - AFTERNOON OF THURSDAY 9TH MAY
Our school will therefore be open but closed for instruction from 12:30 - 3:00pm on Thursday 9th May. This means that some support staff will be at school to supervise children, but if you are able to collect your children at 12:30pm that would be greatly appreciated.
If you are unable to collect your child at 12:30pm could you please email office@toko.school.nz.

SPORTS DESK
Rippa Rugby Registration Forms
These are coming home with all children in Years 5 - 8. Children need to register so they can play in the upcoming Year 5 & 6 and Year 7 & 8 rippa rugby tournaments that we are involved in. If you could please fill these in and return to their classroom teacher as soon as possible that would be greatly appreciated.
Jones Cup
Jones Cup is a rural cluster event for Year 5-8. At this event schools compete in rugby and netball only. These are mixed ability teams and it is an opportunity for those that don't play in these codes to participate. Jones Cup will be held on Monday 24th June (Week 9), 1st postponement date 25th June and final postponement date 1st July.
Practises will begin in Week 4 on Friday 24th May from 2.15-3pm.
These will run every Friday until Jones Cup.
We are looking for coaches for netball and rugby, if you are able to commit to all practises and being available on the day of the competition please email rebecca.jury@toko.school.nz

Sharing Bread with the Taranaki LandGirls
It’s remarkable how the humble loaf of bread can appeal to our senses, the smell, taste and texture evoking a primal sense of comfort and belonging. Join the Taranaki LandGirls at the TSB Community Trust (21 Dawson St, New Plymouth), 6.45pm on Thursday 9 May to share your favourite specialty bread (home made or purchased), or dips, preserves etc to enjoy with bread. This social evening will be combined with our AGM. Whether you are new or have been with us for awhile, please come and join us for a fun evening.
