We Live the Word!

From the Principal's Desk

Dear Father Doyle Families,

If there's anything that makes my day as an educator, it is hearing that someone's child loves to come to school. Over the past week, it has been wonderful to see students at drop off with smiles on their faces, eager to say hello to their friends, engage in exciting activities in the classroom, and grow academically, spiritually, and in so many other ways. What is even more rewarding is seeing those same smiles at the end of the day, though they are perhaps tinged with a bit of exhaustion it's a tiredness that says we worked hard today, and it's been a good day.

Thank you for sharing the gift of your children with us! There have been so many wonderful things to celebrate in these first few weeks of school, and I am excited to see what new adventures and achievements await us in the weeks and months ahead.

A few notes and reminders:

  • Now that we are a few weeks into the school year, please be sure you are familiar with and abiding by our dress code policies.
  • Please note the chain of communication noted in our Parent Student Handbook (see page 3), namely that classroom concerns should be discussed first with the student and classroom teacher whom the matter involves. If you need contact information for any teacher, please note that email addresses are listed on the website.
  • A reminder that Conduct Notices will begin being sent home starting this Monday, September 18th for students in grades 4-8. More details will be emailed to families separately.

FJVD Walk-a-thon September 28, 2023

We're excited to announce that the 2023 Father John V. Doyle School Walk-a-thon will be held Thursday, September 28th. Each class will have a chance to complete their walk/run during the school day along with other fun activities to celebrate the event. To view our special, annual Walk-a-thon kick-off video, click here.

Proceeds from last year's Walk-A-Thon went to support student needs, including but not limited to upgrades to our outdoor recess spaces. This year we will continue to enhance the student experience with an emphasis on addressing specific classroom needs across the grade levels. With your help, we can once again help transform our school for the better!
