What We Are Learning

Math - multiplication of 2 digits by up to 4 digits using the standard algorythm, the distributive property, the grid method or the lattice method.

multiplication tables: 8's, 9's, 10's, 11's & 12's;

Social Studies - map skills and Indians native to North Carolina. Students will be researching one of the tribes native to North Carolina. The students will write a paragraph and create an illustration. The projects will be presented in class.

ELA - using evidence from the text to support answers. We will use our summarizing skills as well as main idea and detail to write about indian tribes native to North Carolina.

Weekly Objective Results

We did pretty well with 1 digit multiplication. We multiplied one digit by up to four digits, and had 16 out of 23 students pass with 80% or higher. This week we will be looking at methods for multiplying; standard algorithm, distributive property, area model (grid) and lattice.

We will continue to work on the multiplication facts. Most everyone is on the 8's -12's, but we have 2 students working on division facts as they have mastered multiplication! Great job Noah and Charvi!

Citing text evidence continues to be a chalenge. 13 of our 23 students passed with an 80% or higher. We will continue to work on this skill. Our leveled reading selection went well this week 22 of our 23 students passed with 80% or higher. Our one student that missed the mark had a 75%, so we are sooooo close to the 100% mark!
