From the Nurse...
Vision & Hearing Screenings
Parents and guardians,
I have completed all first round screenings for kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade for the year, if a re-screen is needed, I will conduct that when it’s time (at least 3 weeks from first screen). If your child passed, nothing further will be needed. If your child did not pass, I will send home a referral for the pediatrician. As always, feel free to contact me with any questions.

For students interested in skipping a grade next year, testing will be available during the week October 10-14th on campus. To skip a grade, elementary students must take 4 tests – Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science for the grade they wish to skip. A score of 80% is required on ALL tests for the student to be eligible to skip the grade. For more information about October testing please contact your school counselor, Shannon Kinniebrew, by October 1st, so that requests may be processed in a timely fashion.

**PTO NEWS**
SWE Booster Fun Run Is Coming!!
Parents & Families-
This year’s main fundraiser is the SWE STARS Booster Fun Run! It is a two-week program that kicks off with a Pep Rally on October 21 for students. Families can gather pledges for every lap your child will runs (30-35 laps) at the Fun Run, which will happen on October 30.
Last year the money raised support our amazing library rennovation & updates as well as technology purchases.
This year our goal is to raise $25,000 for continuous improvements (Library, Makerspace, Sensory/Movement Lab & murals) as well as technology purchases.
In additional to the physical benefits of the Fun Run, students will also experience an amazing character theme, MINDSPARK: WILD WEST!
Booster’s most exciting theme yet combines S.T.E.A.M. skills (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) with character-building. While they're teaming up with the MindSpark Kids to save Dr. Shock, our students will learn five character traits that will help strengthen themselves and our world.
Pledge information will be shared soon. Thanks so much for your continued SWE support! Together, we shine brighter!
