Edition 3: August 20, 2021

Hello Parents and Students,

This has been a great first week of school. Students have been exploring the curriculum, learning the school expectations, developing our routines, and having fun getting to know each other. Next week, students will begin diving into the academics and finding out our reading levels. Please stay connected with your teacher and be part of their Class Do Jo. Hope to see you at Back to School Night on Tuesday.

We have many activities coming up. Please take a moment to look at the flyers, links, pictures, and calendar of events below so you don't miss out. We have a great opportunity for parents to join a free program called Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE). The first meeting is on September 1st - zoom. See the flyer below.

Friendly reminder, if your child has symptoms of being sick such as: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, please keep your child home and contact the school. We will need to follow the Covid - 19 Decision Tree. Thank you.

THANK YOU: We are averaging about 10 students each day who have been tardy arriving after 9:05, and we currently have 360 students enrolled. Thank you to everyone who is showing up on time ready to learn. The teachers and I appreciate it.

On Wednesday in the Wednesday folder is the parent handbook. The last page is the Parent-Teacher-Student Compact. Please sign it and return it to your teacher by August 31. Thanks!

Have a great weekend!

Mrs. Noren

Teacher will allow mask breaks, and teachers will be providing opportunities for students to work out door weather permitting. There is a process for mask exemption:

Exemption process

•Parent/guardian must complete the Medical Exemption/Accommodation request form

•All forms will be reviewed by district health team (district nurse, Director of Student Services, site administrator)

•A member of the health team will contact the licensed health care provider to clarify medical needs
