Not Feeling Well?
If you wish to enroll your student in our weekly SHIELD testing, please use THIS FORM to provide your consent. Our testing day is Monday and Tuesday (AM Kindy) and results are typically back fairly quickly. SHIELD is a PCR saliva test.
Classroom Expectations Revisited
When we return from any break, it is vital that building and classroom expectations are revisited with students. This allows us to proactively approach behavior and refresh expectations with students.
During the first week back from winter break, every school in the district will be engaging in Whole-School Expectations revisits and Station Rotations. Teachers will also utilize the first weeks back from break to revisit classroom expectations.
Creating a safe and conducive learning environment, as well as being responsive to our students’ needs, is a priority. When classrooms run smoothly, instructional time is maximized and that is in everyone's best interest.
Mental Health Awareness Program
Summer Reading Opportunity
The Center for Literacy at National Louis University is offering a Summer Reading Program to help students who are experiencing reading and/or writing difficulties.
Tutors are licensed teachers who are earning their graduate degree as a Reading Specialist.
Students receive one-to-one tutoring in reading and writing one hour per day, four mornings per week, for five weeks.
The program will run from June 27-July 28, and daily attendance (virtual or in person) is mandatory.
Services will be available in English and Spanish.
D15 students can register for a discounted rate of $100!
The Multilingual Department will cover this cost with grant funding for any EL student. Parents can fill out the application online (link in the flyer) and do not need to pay anything. Our Department will collaborate with NLU to provide payment on behalf of our EL families.
Gen ed students experiencing reading/writing difficulties can also sign up for the discounted rate. Parents can sign up directly with NLU using the link on the attached flyers.
This program will fill quickly! Please help us fill the spots with D15 students who would benefit from this valuable opportunity.

Student Data Privacy
Privacy and student data protection is a key priority for the District. Our three main technology departments (instructional technology, technology, and data services) work to make sure our systems and vendors comply with the requirements of the Student Online Personal Protection Act or SOPPA, which regulates how student information is protected by school districts and education technology vendors they use. Our student privacy web page outlines our privacy related actions and protective measures.
We also employ a number of measures like on-site filtering, student device monitoring, and security tools which protect our network from outside threats. Students participate in digital citizenship curriculum, and staff can employ tools to support students in making good digital choices. Lastly, our district participates in several state and national consortiums, collaborating with other districts to keep informed on best practices and new resources that may support our data privacy policies.
