Mrs. Guier's News
16 Sept 2016
A week in review
During our News 2 you time we learned about Hurricanes. We learned that hurricanes don't affect us much in the midwest, but that we experience other types of severe weather. The students gave us a list of types of severe weather we experience here, and how to stay safe during severe weather.
Today we had a fire drill, and the students all did a great job getting out quick and waiting to return to the building!
We continued to work on our IEP goals within our curriculum and during groups.
Making butter!
This experiment was very simple, but took lots of energy, according to some students!
Directions: Place 1/2 cup cold cream in a jar and shake until butter forms and separates from the liquid. Repeat with the warm cream. Pour off the liquid and chill.
Our results were;
Group 1: 19 min 44 sec (cold); 5 min 32 sec (warm)
Group 2: 12 min 23 sec (cold); 4 min 35 sec (warm)
The warmer was faster, and the butter was delicious!
Making Jam!
Biscuits!
