Brookwood Elementary Summer Hours
Beginning May 31st through July 22nd, Brookwood Elementary School's Front Office will open Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm. The Registration Office is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm.
Brookwood Elementary will be closed during summer on the following dates:
- June 20th in observance of Juneteenth
- July 4th - 8th in observance of Independence Day
Online School Supplies Orders for 22-23 School Year Close Today!
Brookwood Elementary PTA would like to help you get a head start on back to school supply shopping for the 2022 - 2023 school year. Order your student a School Kidz School Supply Kit, and conveniently get your child's school supplies in time for the new school year!
- School supply kits will be stocked with brand names teachers trust including Ticonderoga, Crayola, Elmer's, and Expo.
- Supply kits will be delivered to Brookwood Elementary and your child's new classroom for Meet the Teacher Day on July 28th.
- The basic supply kit contains all required grade level school supplies except headphones, which can be ordered separately.
- Online orders (Account #32127) will close on Friday, May 27th.
- Add-ons items such as backpacks, lunch bags, and water bottles are available when you place an online order.
2022 - 2023 School Supply Lists
Supply lists for the 2022 - 2023 school are now available at the Brookwood Elementary website for viewing or download.
Get ready for the Brookwood Elementary Summer Reading Challenge! The Summer Reading Challenge began on May 15th and will run throughout the summer until July 31st. To participate in the challenge, students read books, log their reading minutes on the Beanstack website, and complete activities to earn virtual badges. Students who complete 8 or more virtual badges will be rewarded in the Fall with a visit to the GCPS Bookmobile to pick a FREE book.
How do you get started on the Summer Reading Challenge?
- Go to Brookwood Elementary page of the Beanstack website.
- Log in with your GCPS student number and 4-digit birthdate (MMDD)
- Log your reading on the Beanstack website.
- Earn virtual badges!
Kindergarten Registration is NOW OPEN!
Do you have a child who will turn 5 years old before September 1, 2022? Then it is time to register for KINDERGARTEN!
Kindergarten Registration began online on April 11, 2022. You can find all the information you to need to help you get ready at the New to Brookwood page of the Brookwood Elementary website.
If you do not have a kindergarten-aged child, please help Brookwood Elementary spread the word about Kindergarten Registration to your friends and neighbors.
Play 2 Learn is coming to Brookwood Elementary!
Play 2 Learn is a GCPS program for young children— ages birth to 5— which will be offered at Brookwood Elementary School during 2022 - 2023 school year. Children and parents and other adults in the family learn TOGETHER through engaging lesson plans in a high-quality preschool environment for 90 minutes each week during the school year. Families are empowered to keep the learning going at home so that all children will be ready for Kindergarten including:
- Learn how to find the teachable moment in everyday activities
- Learn how to engage with your child in play
- Learn how to continue learning at home or anywhere
- Learn about your child's education milestones
- Learn how to get your child READY FOR SCHOOL!

A MESSAGE FROM The BES HEALTH RESPONSE TEAM
Did you know that Brookwood ES has a Health Response Team (HRT) which manages and communicates COVID related information with staff, students and parents? The HRT gathers information, conducts contact investigations and communicates as needed. In the next few months, it is important that you continue to alert the school if your child develops symptoms or tests positive for the virus.
Common symptoms include:
Fever (100.4 or higher), Cough, Shortness of breath, muscle/body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, congestion/runny nose, nausea/vomiting, sore throat, fatigue

Brookwood Cluster Entrepreneurs Camp for Rising 6th - 8th Graders
The Brookwood Cluster Entrepreneurs Camp for rising 6th through 8th graders will be July 18 - 21st at Crews Middle School. Students will learn how to have an entrepreneur mindset as they create a pop-up business.
Registration opens May 2nd, and space is limited. Download the registration form to submit via the Brookwood Community School.
Crews Middle School Summer Reading
The Crews Middle School Media Center challenges rising 6th grade students to read 1200 minutes (about 20 minutes a day) this summer! Students will track their reading on Beanstack. Five Forks Middle School Summer Reading Program
The Five Forks Media Center invites rising 6th graders at FFMS to participate in their Take 5 Books Summer Reading Program. Students who read three or more books over the summer months will be invited to a reading celebration and entered into a drawing for awesome prizes. For more information, please view the Take 5 Books for Summer Reading information. Students are also encouraged to complete Five Forks Summer Reading Bingo for an additional prize.

Brookwood Youth Running Club for rising 4th and 5th Grade students
Brookwood Youth Running Club registration has open for students who will be in 4th or 5th grade during the 2022 - 2023 school year. The club will focus middle distance and distance running. Practices will held at Brookwood High School. Please register by July 18th. For more information and registration go to the Brookwood Youth Track & Cross Country Club website.
Brookwood High School Summer Youth Camps
Brookwood Community School is now registering for Summer Youth Camps for students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. Available youth camps include baseball, boys' basketball, girls' basketball, father & daughter basketball, football, softball, and theatre arts. Registration information can be found on the Brookwood Community School website.
Kids 4 Coding Summer Tech Camps
Summer Tennis Program with BHS Tennis Players
Student athletes on Brookwood High School's Varsity Tennis Team will be hosting RKM Tennis, a tennis program over the summer with group lessons for elementary and middle school students.
Lessons will be from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at the Montclair Tennis Courts. Lessons will cost $15.00 per child, and water and Gatorade will be provided. All proceeds from the summer tennis program will benefit the Atlanta Youth & Education Foundation.

Middle School Summer Adventures: Career Exploration at Maxwell High School of Technology
The Summer Adventure Career Exploration at Maxwell High School will run May 31 - June 3 from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. The Career Exploration programs are designed for current 5th - 8th graders. Students can choose to explore programs in the careers of animation, automotive services, cosmetology, culinary arts, and more.
