The Staff

Last week was awesome!! THANK YOU to our staff who have been so positive, greeting kids at the door, and making the first week so special.

Our Custodial Crew

Our custodial crew has been going above and beyond this week with HVAC issues, getting fans in your rooms, helping assist, and with a smile on their face the whole time. Thank you custodial crew. We appreciate you!

Textbooks

Tania, Van, David Zhou, and Julienne for getting our students the correct textbooks, lockers set up, and making the first week a smooth transition for our students.

Darcy Milam

Shoutout to Darcy Milam who does a cool activity with her kids. Each kid gets a card and writes two things they want Darcy to know. During the year, Darcy picks random cards to call on students for verbal assessment or checking in. This helps Darcy get to know her students better and I love that she is getting to know the name, face, and story. She is going above and beyond to build those relationships early on in the semester that will pay off down the road!

THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX

Stop Asking Kids What They Want to be When They Grow Up

Don't ask kids what they want to be when they grow up. It encourages them to define themselves in terms of work. Instead, ask them what they want to do—and who they want to be. You can aspire to be a person of integrity and generosity in any career.
