Cause: People wanted to be entertained by something and relax during their leisure time.
Reason: Americans had more leisure time than ever before now that WWII was over.
Result: More fans than ever attended baseball, basketball, and football games as well as watched them on television. Also, millions of people participated in sports such as fishing, bowling, hunting, boating, and golf.
Importance:
Significance: Lots of money was spent on these activities, and sports stars became very popular.

Reason: The listeners responded enthusiastically and new music was created for all Americans (both black and white)
Result: Many new rock 'n' roll artists became popular such as Elvis Presley.

Significance: Record sales increased, and many new artists became extremely popular
