Christ Child Academy Newsletter

From the Desk of Mr. Ruedinger

Hello CCA Parents,

What a wonderful week of fun activities at CCA celebrating Catholic Schools Week. The students enjoyed pajama day, western day, and tomorrow is beach day with a parent pizza lunch. All parents are welcome to come and eat lunch on their beach towel with their child(ren). On Tuesday, the three local Catholic schools gathered to celebrate Mass together at St. John the Baptist. Our students looked sharp in their Mass day attire and represented CCA in an awesome way! Great Job! On Wednesday, the students made Easter crafts and cards for Project Angel Hugs to send to children with cancer. Today, the 8th graders served the teachers and staff an awesome lasanga lunch in the library to show their appreciation for these amazing people. We are blessed with the staff at CCA!

A HUGE Thank You to the many parents and students who helped at our Catholic Schools Weekend Masses last weekend. Thank you to Erin Hutton and Sarah Landgraf for organizing all the church socials.

The 100th Day of school is Friday, February 7th!

No Carrier today.

Standards Based Grading

During this school year, Christ Child Academy will be transitioning from a traditional grading system to standards based grading system, which will go into effect for the 2020-2021 school year. The Archdiocese of Milwaukee has strongly recommended that all schools move to this reporting framework.

As we proceed through this transition over the next year, please know that our goal of academic excellence remains our priority. These "best practices" will enable parents to fully understand where their child is academically while at the same time motivating students to become life-learners.

The Parenting Guide to Standards Based Grading will provide valuable insight during this transition. Additional information will be coming in the following weeks.
