The benefits of mentoring are that it encourages a student to attend school and it improves their self-esteem. As well, it let's a student know that there is someone who cares about them.

Thank you to the following people for giving up some of their time to mentor students:

Celeste Rodriguez, Melissa Pfeil, Cathy Brock, Kathy Kirtland, Adrianna Nieto

Erin Surman, CoCo Pena, Christen Cozart, Jane Brown, Kim Ximenez

Allison Deike, Renee Caro, Virginia Silva, Kim McCool, Lisa Tieken, Megan Aguilar

Carol Villanueva, Laura DaLuz, David Merten, Catherine Gastauer

Kaycee Schoenert, Angelica Rodriguez, Angelina Gonzales, Rhonda Bourland

Linda Lucio, Cindy Duppstadt, Renee Deaver, Veronica Burciaga, Mrs. Murphy

Patrick Hutzler, Jenny Wulff, Heather Daniell, Liana Martinez, and Gaylyn Penlerick.

There are still students who need a mentor.

Remember, do not use the ICU list as a consequence. Say instead, "The only way I will know what you need extra practice on is by completing and turning in your assignment."

The next PLC meeting will be held October 8 (Thursday). The topic will be Cornell Notes.
