Inspiring Passionate Learners
Why is the Attendance Window so Important?
Why is this important?
- Our school board's goal is for all schools to have a minimum of 98% of our students in attendance each day so that mastery of learning occurs and dropout rates decrease.
- We receive $65 per pupil per day they are at school. This is how public education is funded from our salaries to all of our supplies.
What happens if you do your attendance before 9:30 and after 9:45?
- If we are audited on that day, you lose $65 per pupil for that day of funding for our district. For a class of 22, that's $1,430.
Help us reach our goal of 100% of our teachers submitting attendance on time. Kati is running a report each week for the office team to review. All teams who reach 100% will receive early release passes. When our entire school reaches 100%, Thirsty Thursday is on the house.
For teachers who are consistently unable to enter attendance on time, you will confer with Kim or me to co-create a plan of success for you.

12 Days of Christmas
We have a few new surprises worked into our plan. Two things we want you to have plenty of time to prepare for in advance:
- Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest with Prizes
- Christmas Pajama Day
We are also ensuring to offer Paleo and dairy free options on days we have special treats for you.
PLC Rotations Include Opportunities for Promoting Literacy
Beginning this Thursday, your class will participate in their regular special areas and a 30 minute book buddy session with the grade level who is partnering with you. Each week, your kids will read with an older student buddy in your classroom. The older students will go to the younger students classroom and students will select a book they want to read to or with their book buddy. Book buddies will even ask them comprehension questions to help our younger readers think about their reading.
If you already have a book buddy partnership on campus, you're welcome to keep that partnership going as it is now.
