The Franklin Central Marching Flashes finished their 2021 season with an amazing performance at ISSMA Semi State competition on Saturday afternoon. That’s all that matters to me. Thank you, students, directors, and staff, for your countless hours of hard work and preparation during this season. Thank you to the many parent volunteers that contributed in support of the band. Thank you to the FC Band Booster board for directly helping me every week. Amanda Groce, Engagement Coordinator, creates the Weekly Cadence newsletter each week. Erin Thompson, Treasurer, keeps the finances straight. Melissa Davis, Fundraising Coordinator, helps make band participation more affordable. Karen Smith, Secretary, created the Spirit Buttons. Denise Holaday, President, encouraged and advised me on a regular basis. Carrie Brewer Thomas, Events Coordinator, pulled off a fantastically hosted event last weekend. Valarie Solomon, Color Guard Liaison, coordinated volunteers and communicated with parents. Connie Moxley, Concert Band Liaison, filled in everywhere on competition days. Thank you all for your constant support.

Marching band is made possible because of the people that handled the gritty details. Thank you to the food team and Melissa Kieper for providing meals. Thank you to Casey Matczak and Christy Smith with the Spirit Committee that provided amazing decorations, weekly snacks and treats, sorted and distributed swag and many other things. Thank you Chris and Christie Chandler and the props team for building the wonderful creations they put on the field. Thank you to Matthew Hills, Justin Hutchinson and Jon Gaiser for taking on the difficult task of procuring and driving the box trucks that hauled the props each week – this was monumental. Thank you to Collin and Emily Geisking for driving the semi truck that hauled the equipment at no cost to the band. Thank you Mary Jo Woodruff for coordinating pit volunteers at competitions. Thank you to Danelle Grimes and the chaperones for riding on the busses and keeping our kids safe. Thank you to the uniform team for fitting uniforms, refitting uniforms, washing and organizing on competition days. Lastly, Thank you to Mr. Cooper and Mr. Ellinger for giving me the opportunity to connect with so many wonderful parents and students. This experience will live with me for a very long time.

Marching Band Banquet - Tuesday, Nov. 23

Tickets are now on sale for this year's end of season banquet. The deadline to purchase tickets is November 5th, so please order as soon as possible. We need to give our site a headcount early to avoid supply chain challenges. Students need not purchase a ticket, only parents/guests.

Because our band family has grown, the location has been moved to The Atrium. See the website for details.

Fundraising Opportunity - PepWear

**You've received a raise!**

PepWear is offering a fundraising opportunity for anyone 14 years or older. Workers will work at the PepWear booths at Lucas Oil Stadium during Grand Nationals (Nov 10-13). Any worker will earn $15/hr for the designated student's band account. Please use the link to sign up for desired shifts. Signing up here will not yet guarantee you a shift. I will be sending names into PepWear as people sign-up to add to their lists. Shifts may fill up so sign-up as early as you can! If you have any questions, you can contact Connie Moxley at (317) 340-9289.
